Pale earthiness

String’s colour is reminiscent of the untreated twine used by gardeners and parcel senders worldwide. It is a pale earth pigment based colour with an underlying green, which makes it a Farrow & Ball classic. It is particularly good for connecting rooms with the outside, so is often used in conservatories. For a really relaxed feel, contrast it with the very slightly lighter Matchstick.
