Robert Delaunay (1885-1941) was a French painter who excelled in the field of abstract painting. He made this painting to make a tribute to Louis Bleriot, a French aviator. The man crossed the English Channel with his plane in July 1909 and Delaunay attended his return to Paris.

Through this picture we see the color wheels, several aircraft models, the Eiffel Tower and the Ferris wheel. It reveals great ingenuity color movements. The light is bright and glowing hues. Homage to Bleriot is a decorative panel 288 cm x 288 cm and it consists of 6 strips of 48 cm x 288 cm.
