Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) was both a painter and sculptor, born in Poland he worked in Paris. During his life he was influenced by some of the major currents such as Byzantine art, African art and cubism.
This decorative panel is composed of several facets, showing perhaps the different faces of the same character. We see a face and two other profile. The artist painted this picture of a cubisante way, but we also feel the influence of African art as well as an Art Deco style. The decor consists of 5 strips of 48 cm x 300 cm, measuring a total of 240 cm x 300 cm.
